The ropes are in
This is the sign that we are now in the winter swimming season. The ropes are in.
It’s lovely and sunny and the changing rooms feel warm but the water temperature is now down to 10 degrees (50 Fahrenheit). So the Corporation lifeguards bring in the ropes with the red floats that mark the swimming area.
It now extends just 20 metres of so beyond the jetties. I think the idea is that they don’t want people getting hypothermia beyond reach of a rescue ring.
