Season Shift

After a couple of weeks without running or swimming because of a football-induced calf injury, I got back into the water just before the season shift from summer to winter.

Tomorrow the ropes come in.

This means that the area for swimming is vastly reduced as a safety precaution now that the water is at 12 degrees.

It’s not too painful as I wear gloves and a hat, but even at this temperature you do feel chilled on the walk home.

It was grey this morning and there were plenty of gulls on the life-rings – a sure sign of worse weather to come.
